LUC is a company specialised, for more than thirty years, in producing and processing hot curing polyurethane (PUR)-elastomers, and this especially for the (re)covering of cylinders, rollers and wheels and the production of many different moulded parts. Polyurethane combines the strength of plastic with the elasticity of rubber. This is why the material has an excellent property scale which often makes the use of polyurethane preferable over that of classic rubber.
The strength of LUC is hidden in the fact that the company has a very profound chemical knowledge of polyurethanes, which is especially reflected by the numerous formulations and processing methods. Therefore, when problems in a specific customers application arise, different parameters can be perfectly altered, although within limits, and the problem can be solved in most of the cases.
For the production of polyurethane elastomers (rubbers) LUC processes different polyurethane systems, from which the brand names Vulkollan®, Adiprene® and Baytec® are the most common known. For more details about the different materials you can look into the materials section.
Using these polyurethane systems different categories of products are manufactured:
-(re)covering of cylinders and rollers
-(re)covering of wheels
-(re)covering of special parts (e.g. pads, shoes, separators)
-moulded parts
These products are supplied to a wide range of industrial sectors.
Additional to these products LUC can provide a number of services.
For LUC a thorough customer service and the quality of the products come first of all. That is why the co-workers follow a continuous internal and external training and the products are being improved by the work in the laboratory. A quality assurance system, according to ISO 9001-2000, assures a high quality and a production exactly according to the required standards.

LUC, amongst others specialised in (re)covering and machining of cilinders/rolls, has the ability of handling products with a length of 10.000 mm, a diameter of 2.500 mm and a maximum weight of 20 metric tons. Products exceeding these measurements can also be machined, but will need special handling and preparation.
The heating capacity is divided over more than 10 ovens: their function is preheating, melting of raw material, heating during casting, (post-)curing. The largest oven has a useable dimension of 2700 x 3500 x 10000 mm.
The use of several casting machines permits to process the traditional PU systems (LUCPREEN), as well as more specific systems (LUCOLLAN) and even systems develloped by LUC itself (LUCTHAAN). Roll casting can be done horizontally as well as vertically.
A variety of lathes enables us to machine small up to very large rolls. Maximum diameter indoors is 1830 mm, maximum length: 10.000 mm.
Surface finishing possibilities varie from cilindrical to bomb shaped whereas grooving can be crossed, longitudinal, spiral, combined up to Lorig-aligner grooves.
A grinding machine can handle rolls up to Ø 800 mm and 6000 mm between centers.
